The French press, or cafetière as it is also known, was actually patented by an Italian. Designed to brew coffee using a soaking method, and then pressing the ground coffee to the bottom of the coffee pot, it is a simple and easy way to make a great cup of coffee. These coffee makers are made with a heat proof Pyrex jug with a chrome handle.
